13 Feb Stuck in the Bahamas

Well, much to our surprise we are shipwrecked! We are docked at Disney’s Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. The winds are around 55-60 knots and it is a level 8 gale. The waves are pretty amazing. I though for sure we had made it away from the island during the night, as we were pitching and rolling, but much to my surprise we had the same view of the island in the morning! Needless to say this has created quite the problem for crew and passengers alike. The line to make phone calls this morning was HUGE and moving very slowly. I managed to call Westjet on daddy’s blackberry, and got our flights changed to tomorrow at 9:35pm. They were understanding, but of course this cost us around $250 per pseron in addition. What can you do?? We would like to get home! At the moment we are attempting to make another break for it! We have made it about 30m past the outer edge the breakwater! Regardless. It sill takes 12-14 hrs depending on the weather to get to port, so we are on the ship another night. So far we haven’t run out of food or water!! More importantly we have formula and diapers a-plenty, and we still have clean clothes, so all is well. See you when we see you!
