Extended Family gathering
Posted by ahechtenns On January 20, 2007
We had a lovely extended family gathering in Virgil. Uncle V and Aunt S hosted. R had a grand time playing with an old Jack-in-the-box, of course everyone had to pretend to be very surprised for her. Her older 2nd cousins were great with her, and played with her a lot! It was a nice chance to visit.
Niagara Falls

We spent a lovely weekend away with Grandma and Grandpa at Niagara Falls. We stayed in the historic Brock hotel, and spent time at the waterpark that they built on top of their parking garage. It was an enjoyable weekend away. More pictures here
Fun with Opa’s hat

We had a lovely breakfast with Oma & Opa. Oma and R had a great time playing with Opa’s hat…Opa wasn’t so sure, but isn’t the smile on R’s face worth it??
Happy New Year
Posted by ahechtenns On January 4, 2007
Happy New year all! We had a sort of mixed up new year, as we flew home from Halifax at 7am on New Year’s day. Later in the week we all got a stomach flu. Not fun, and hence I have no pictures for you!
Halifax

We made the trip out east to visit one of the other Enns clans.  Oma and Opa flew with us too. We had a great time. P&L have a wonderful place in Glen Haven, about 35 minutes from Halifax, on the coast, just north of Peggy’s cove.  Rebecca was expecially delighted to get 4 whole days of play time with her cousins. They had a riot. We got to see a bit of Peggy’s cove, despite the -25 degree wind chill, walked around downtown Halifax, did some tobogganing, and walked to an island at low tide.  Of course we also celebrated Christmas together, as well as P&L’s birthdays.  It was a delightful visit. I wish we could go again in spring, but it looks like we’ll be heading to the West coast to see D&M instead. I know there are lots of pictures in the gallery, but check them out! Even pictures of the newest Enns, Raina.
Christmas Day

We were lucky enough to be home on Christmas Day. We convinced Grandma and Grandpa to come to us. Grandpa dressed up for the occasion as you can see. Rebecca really wasn’t sure what to make of that. We had a lovely time opening gifts, and had a brunch later on.  Later in the day after nap time, we headed over to Grandma & Grandpa’s for another turkey dinner.  Check out the gallery.
Christmas Eve

Yes I’m late. We were away, we all had a stomach flu, yada yada, you get the picture.  Anyways. Christmas was a delight.  We celebrated Christmas eve with Oma and Opa. Mom cooked a wonderful turkey dinner, and we opened a few presents, saving most for Halifax. Rebecca loves rooting through Oma’s drawers…Here are some pictures.
Christmas Program
Posted by ahechtenns On December 17, 2006
Rebecca was in the children’s Christmas Program. She did really well! We had practiced the two songs, but we weren’t sure if she would actually sing (or stay up on the stage with her class). But she did really well! She sang loud! She smiled! She danced! When she came back to where we were sitting, she walked up to her grandparents and asked “Was that a good song, guys?”. She asks her grandfather “Did you hear me singing, Grandpa?”. We were all proud.
It was hard to take pictures. The ones that turned out best were of Rebecca playing on stage before the actual performance. See them here.
Family day

Well two years ago today we became a family of 3. I can hardly belive it.  We made home-made pizza as a special treat. Rebecca had a great time playing with the dough. A was grating the cheese, and Rebecca picked up her hair brush and annouced “Let’s brush the cheese!”. She says (and does) things like that all the time. She had a blast dressing up while the pizza baked.  After supper we had a nice cake, and raspberries. I gave Rebecca a small slice of cake, and some raspberries. My child didn’t touch the cake. She gobbled up the raspberries and asked for more!  More pictures in the gallery.
Good friends
Posted by ahechtenns On December 12, 2006
Well I had a lovely night visiting with old friends from work. It was delightful to catch up on everyone’s lives, and those were some good nachos! From left to right, Susan, Jo-Anna and Jill.Â
Rebecca was playing with our Nativiy set today. Thank goodness I bought the set from Paraguay made from Palo Santo wood, it’s very durable! She told me today that she loved baby Jesus, and she wanted to give him her crib, since he only had a manger. How loving is that?
