These are the lazy hazy days of summer…

And those days where is it so hot you can cook an egg on the patio…something I’ve always wanted to try.

Anyways.  We had all the cousins over and the kids had a great time playing in our 2 mini pools, and running through the sprinkler.  Here are more pics.

This sweet face??

Yes, this is the sweet face of my daughter.   This is the sweet little thing that has been driving me crazy lately!!!   R has been deciding not to nap lately, and I really cannot say it’s because she doesn’t need them.   She gets crazy tired by mid afternoon and I have been needing to take a car ride to get R to sleep.   Sigh.  Let’s hope mummy makes it through this phase!

Meeting…

Well, we had our big meeting with our Agency today.  It was a great meeting.  We learned all sorts of things about the order of things that will happen just before and once we get to Zambia.   It felt really good to hand off our homestudy, we had picked it up from M in the morning.   Things are slowly moving!!!

Glasses

This is what my sweetie would look like if she wore glasses, wow!!  She snitched Grandpa’s glasses, then danced around while wearing them.   She had a strange look on her face when she took them off though…I guess she doesn’t need reading glasses!!

We had a fun day.  First our friend E came over in the morning, and we did breakfast (for E, lucky duck gets to sleep in) and lunch for R and I at our favourite breakfast haunt, Benny’s.  As ususal pretty much all the staff came by to see R, and talk with her.  She is well known there.  I’m surprised all that “Oh you’re soo cute”  hasn’t gone to her head yet..

After a much needed nap, we got to play with our neighbour B.  They have a great time when they are together.   In the evening, Grandpa stopped by (Hence the glasses) and brought berries from his yard.  R gobbled them down, but was also generous enough to bring a few over for B to eat.   These are the great lazy hazy days of summer, aren’t they!

Tomorrow we start swimming lessons again (the last session didn’t end so well).  This time we’re prepared, neighbour B is in the same class, the class is taught in the shallow area, and we’ve requested a female teacher…so hopefully things go well!

R, daddy and the snake

Daddy found a garter snake today between our and the neighbour’s house.   R was most curious, and after examining it, they went down to the conservation land to set it free.  Once they returned, they found another one!

Cousins

Wow, did the girls have a good time together!  We had a blast hanging out in the back yard playing on the swing set.  It was a lovely warm summer evening, and sitting up on the hill in the shade was lovely. Picutres here

Stylin’ or what?

Yup, I have a stylin’ girl.  Cool shades, hat, and of course the ultimate accessory, the microphone!!  Today just seemed to be a day with lots of performing in it.   In the evening R did a Canada Day dance for us and our neighbours with flag.  It was stunning! I wish I had captured it.  I’ll try again tomorrow.

Creative Movement

Today R had her first “Creative Movement” class.  She really enjoyed it.  They pretty much danced around the room for a whole half an hour, pretending they were swimming, flying and all sorts of things.   She told me again afterwards that she really liked it.  Sorry no picture today!

Dinner with Grandma

We had a nice dinner with Grandma today.  It was nice to get together.  It’s been really hot and R finally had a chance to wear her tropical outfit we bought on our cruise in February.

R and her friend

We are fortunate to have great neighbours.  R and B play all the time.  They get along so well, it is so sweet to see.  The other day as they were playing we heard R say “Hey B darling…”  I stopped her and said, “Oh, is B your darling?”,  “No” she replied, “He’s my husband….Come along husband”.   How cute!
