J at Therapy
Posted by ahechtenns On October 29, 2011
Well we won’t be at therapy much more. So here is J walking at therapy, doing what he calls “Wheee”. In adult speak, the wobble board.
And with the board the other way…
Walking!!

I think it is now safe to say that J has officially turned into a walking boy. I won’t say that crawling is completely gone, but he has definately decided that walking is preferable to crawling. Oct 14 was the day I noticed him make this switch. We had a small set back in there, where if he was on the ground and had nothing to pull up on, he’d knee walk. (ouch!?!) Therapy that week took care of that, we worked on hand, hand, one, two (put your hands on the floor, then up on each foot). So now I can just say ‘hands down, one two’ and he stands up. It is so AMAZING to see!! He also managed to say ‘juice” for the first time today.
“Cook”
Posted by ahechtenns On October 12, 2011
J is coming up with new words every day, I can hardly keep up. Today was “cloth” (he likes to sleep with these little face cloths), and pickle. He was helping daddy “cook”. This video is too cute, I just had to upload it.
We were at the Optomitrist today. R did really well, especially when she learned she didn’t have to have those pupil-dialating drops. She looked cute in those crazy glasses that they change lenses in, but super cute in the new ones she picked out!

That smart daddy, he got J to walk today, several laps of the kitchen! Most importantly, he stood up on his own to do it!

Touring

We went on one of these funky amphibious tours today. It was a good time, we saw lots of the city.
Supreme Court of Canada
Rideau Canal
Gigantic spider statue in front of National Gallery
Daddy on a motorcycle in the Children’s museum
They had a wonderful Native People exhibit with beautiful totem poles.
Walking around

Why yes, it is a big shoe! The very fun sales lady insisted he try this on. Then he gave her his big spiel, “you know, I never understand when places advertise “Big Shoe sales” he says, why would you want a really big shoe?” She thought my husband was hilarious!
Footloose and kid-free

Currently in Ottawa with dear husband. My lovely parents are looking after the kids. While I miss them like crazy, it is just de-lightful to be completely on our own!! And we went on this spiffy looking airplane!
Belated birthday
Posted by ahechtenns On September 18, 2011
We had a secondary celebration today with the grandparents who were all gone for J’s actual birthday. J was quite delighted to eat the chocolate rocks again that were on his cake (we froze it). Sugar certainly sends him spinning. He quite enjoyed blowing out his candles again!
Who is my baby??? 7 years old, and she’ll always be my baby!
Day at the park

We were at the park today and met a friend of the family. The kids had a good time, as you can see!
