She holds her head up when she wants…

How advanced is E!! She’s been doing this for about a wee and a half already. Harvard here we come!! 🙂
She rolls
Posted by ahechtenns On February 6, 2012
So my 15 day old girl can roll from her back to her side. Is that typical? I’m afraid to leave her anywhere. Kids are totally different. I can STILL leave my 28 month old on the change table with 100% confidence he will not roll or move off!
Still Clean??
Posted by ahechtenns On January 30, 2012
So, here is my question. If you lovingly take the time to bathe your baby, and while you are drying her she pees on the towel, then spits up, then just as you wrap her up she has explosive poo, and some more spit up, is she still clean? Dunno, just asking. I don’t have the energy to give her another bath right now though!
Music

J loves any sort of music. Even his sister practicing recorder, he is dancing to her music in this picture!
yup, those are her feet under her chin

It explains a lot about how she was tucked up inside me! Meet baby E, born Sunday am, 7 lbs 10 ounces.
‘ductions
Posted by ahechtenns On January 16, 2012
Twas the night before ‘duction when back at our house
A fetus was stirring like a wee little mouse
Little booties were hung by the crib rail with care
In the hope that a stork soon would be there
The children were nestled all snug in their beds
While unorthidox baby names danced in their heads
And M in with her leaf tea and me with nightcap
Had just settled down for one last restful nap…
The Sea Section is not Marineland
Posted by ahechtenns On January 16, 2012
R has asked several times what a c-section is, and we’ve tried to explain. But it wasnt sinking in. The reason showed up last night when she said a sweet payer asking that M be able to avoid the sea section. Apparently that is the water-themed section of the hospital. And there might be sharks.
Good to know! We’ll see if we can’t stay clear of there.
Colouring together
Posted by ahechtenns On January 16, 2012
It warms my heart when these two play so nicely together. R was colouring a butterfly, and J was colouring a “horse”. I admit he quickly lost interest in colouring when I got out the pencil sharpener, then it was all about ‘turning’ the pencils…
Sick…
Posted by ahechtenns On January 14, 2012
Well it started last Tuesday morning when little J man threw up his breakfast. He went on to throw up all day long. At 4pm after some gravol, he stoped, but resumed 24 hours later. So far, that seems to be his pattern. He’ll throw up about once every 24 hrs, (the other end in the mean time!) Poor little guy. Daddy came down with it Thursday, and I was down and out yesterday. Things are more complicated for me being pregnant, and I ended up at the hospital for some IV hydration and IV gravol. I’ve been ok today, but super tired. So far, R is the only hold out, and I hope she can keep up her immunity!
Nesting
Posted by ahechtenns On January 8, 2012
So my reading tells me that near the end of your pregnancy you tend to get into this ‘nesting’ mode. Apparently you want to clean, tidy, and generally feel prepared to welcome the new little baby into your life. I had a short spurt of nesting energy….All of the sudden I had the energy to put a basket of laundry away, and I said to A, ‘Hey, this might be nesting’! Too bad it only lasted 10 minutes. Sad really… I could use some more energy to prepare/clean/tidy and more!!!
