Bamboo Bunch picnic

Today we roasted in the heat. 38 degrees with the humidity! Nevertheless we ventured forth, and after some really bad direction giving on my part, we made it. R had a great time with her friends. It is always nice to get together with other families that ‘look’ like us, with kids born in China. Later on in the day we got out R’s splash pool and she had a blast in it!

School picnic

We attented R’s school picnic this week. We had a good time visiting with other parents, and R certainly had a good time on the playgroud with the kids. She was running around with 2 other friends, calling them her ‘team’. Well the ‘team’ decided to take of their shoes and socks and run around in barefeet, and it wasn’t all that warm!

Belated Mother’s Day

I just had to post this sweet picture that my mom just sent me. 3 Generations. Wonderful to see.

Baking with Grandpa

Well R had a great time with Grandpa today. They baked buns (Zwiebach). I think she really liked the messy/sticky dough.

Catching up

Hi,
Yes, i haven’t posted in a while. I’ve had some bad computer problems. The ancient lap top that I ususally use to update with decided it was time for the screen to give out. For a few days I could use it for a few minutes if I pressed on the left front of the laptop. Needless to say this was uncomfortable. Anyways. Each day this trick would buy me fewer and fewer minutes. In addition, the main computer on the main floor has a video card that has also decided to stop working. Ok, I should clarify, it is still working, but has wide stripes of non-legible areas. So editing and posting pictures was quite hard to do when you can’t see the pictures for the stripes. Anyways. I am now up and running again. Check back soon, I’ll fill in the blanks for the last 2 weeks.

It’s finally done

Yes, my first sweater in about 18 years is done! I am pleased with how it turned out, and so is R!! And the best part? It actually fits!

R says

My daughter cracks me up. Here are some quotes from today.

me: R, can you close the bedroom door please?
her: Well I’m putting on my pants, I don’t have time to close the door.

me: R, I don’t want you to be eating chocolate now
her: Well, you weren’t looking and I wanted some
later…
me: R, we are not eating chocolate now!
her: Well don’t see me!

Anniversary and Science

We celebrated our 14th anniversary by going to the Ontario Science Centre as a family. We haven’t been there is a very long time, and it is a wonderful place. They have a brand new area called Kidspark, and it is perfect for her. She was thrilled that she could touch EVERYTHING, and push, pull, whack, sit, stand, jump and climb on everything there. We had fun at the ‘grocery store’, where she could stock shelves, check people out, or shop, we also had some fun playing with camouflage, mirrors, and lots of fun with the push pin-type of board. Check out the gallery. It was a great day.
