Daddy’s birthday. Ah. We had a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant, and went home for daddy’s favourite, Coconut cream pie.

Swirlies
Posted by ahechtenns On F j, Y
R is drawing everything with added swirlies today. I couldn’t figure out why so I asked her. She told me she saw K’s name written in swirlies in the sponge bob book….huh?? Well sure enough she shows me an old notebook we inherited from cousins, and lone behold cousin K wrote both her and her sister’s names in swirlies. Thanks K!!
So what is this?

R set this up on the upstairs landing, and I asked her what is was. She replied “The Penny Invention”. She showed me, you take a penny (she used a dime) and start at the end, and pass the penny along from object to object. It was quite interesting. What a creative little mind.
Raptor show

We saw a great show at our public library. “Raptors” is actually the family name for Birds of Prey. A person from a ‘Raptor Conservatory’ came to the library to educate us about these great birds. We saw a Great horned owl, an american Kestral, a red-tailed hawk, and a Golden eagle. The picture above is of the Golden eagle, very large and impressive. Quite a show, they are beautiful birds.
My baby turns 5

I can hardly believe it. By baby girl turns 5 years old today. I can still remember her first birthday, the first time she had ice cream. Wow. Time flies. Happy birthday darling daughter!
Sewing like a maniac

I have been on a sewing binge lately. I suppose as binges go, it’s a pretty good one to be on. This quilt is what has been keeping me motivated. I had ironed on the daisies months earlier, and now stitched around them, and put all the blocks together. Finally I got my fabric for the boarder in the mail (Yes, I order from on-line fabric stores). I am excited to see this project almost done!
Flowers

Cheery flowers aren’t they? My lovely husband and daughter brought them home for me. I love them! This is the time of year I need cheery things too. I’m having trouble waiting for spring.
Emotions

Hi,
I’m terribly tardy in this post. We went for supper with a friend in late January, and Rebecca and her had a great time posing for me. They were showing me their full range of emotions. Hillarious!

Funny things R says
Posted by ahechtenns On F j, Y
Ok, so I don’t have a picture to go with this post, sorry about that. So my daughter says to me today, that I should be in a talent show. I ask what should I do in the talent show, she says “Mummy you are good at laundry, you should do laundry in a talent show’. Yah, so I’ll be doing “laundry” at the next talent show, that should be very impressive!
She asked me today to tell her about genies. So I told her that they are imaginary, but the story is that if you find a Genie lamp, you can rub it 3 times, and a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes. Wanna know her answers?? Of course you do!
1) She wants to be a ROYAL princess
2) She wants to marry her best friend N. (girlfriend) Although she expressed some concerns that the Genie might not know that she ment N her best friend, and no other N’s.
3) She didn’t have a third wish, even when I pressed her for one. Ah for a simpler outlook on life.
We also went to her new school today to register for SK (Senior kindergarten). She charmed the teachers, and looked perfectly at home in the classroom. She said she was quite excited to go to school next year.
