Game over :-(

I don’t have a picture, and really you should be glad I don’t have a picture….The unthinkable has happened….
my child threw up…
oh no,
it gets worse…
he threw up

on me…

Those of you familiar with me know that I will not throw up, under any circumstances… It turns out that R also has a stomach of iron, and only threw up once so far, last year at age 6. Quite a feat. I was really hoping J would take after her in this respect. Alas no.

The poor boy woke up last night throwing up. Thankfully daddy took care of that. However, once everyone left this morning it was just me and the sick J man. He had gone back to sleep, so when I went to get him at 9, his room had a yucky smell…yup, he had thrown up in his bed. Needless to say i took him right for a bath. He was really pathetic. He desparately wanted to drink, and I was really mean limiting him to a few sips every 15 minutes. All looked ok until lunch. The sort of threw up then, I called it a very generous spit up. However the afternoon was another story. He napped for a while, fittfully, while in my arms. I couldn’t put him down. Just as I was about to get his jacket on to go get the kids from school, he threw up all over me, himself and the floor. Do you wonder why I mention the floor?? Again for those of you who know me, you know that I don’t tollerate any mess on cleaning days. And just this morning our lovely cleaners were here, and everything was spotless…well not now anymore. Anyways. You would be proud of me. After beating back my own instinct to gag, I calmly stripped J, and my shirt off, mopped the floor, and promptly called dear neighbour J to ask her to get the kids from school. Then I dropped all our clothes in the wash on HOT, with extra stain remover applied, dressed us both again, and sat down to regroup.
R came home, and the little J man perked up a bit “Beca, beca, beca, beca” But still was miserable and needed to be held. Daddy picked up subs for supper, and J had a bit of water and a cracker. He started crying, and sure enough he threw up on daddy… He’s cleaned up and in bed now, but I’m not sure how the night will go…or tomorrow for that matter!

Cousins get decked out

Third tooth

She finally lost her third tooth. Those bottom two fell out so quickly and the adult teeth grew in so fast she didn’t look like she had lost teeth…The cute gap is back today though!

Cuteness itself

J and I had a nice quiet day at home. I’m still recovering from this cold that won’t give up, so it was nice to just stay put. We played a lot, and I snapped some pics of course! He had some lovely bed head. That’s what you get when you put him to bed without combing his hair after bath. He also spent some time pounding on his xylophone.
A bit-o-sass
Later, daddy tells me that he and R both heard him say “a duck” in the bathroom, repeating what daddy had said. Anyways. I got to have my baby Aveeno fix, while giving him his night bottle, he snuggled in my arms, and he just smelled so good! MMMmmmm, love that baby aveeno on a warm and cuddly baby! He is so funnny. His eyes were pretty much closed as soon as I gave him the bottle. He drank it (while I got my sniff fix) and when he was done, I took the nipple out of his mouth, and he sort of smacks, then still without opening his eyes, he opens his mouth again. I am required to insert his soother at this point. It is so cute, and he does it all the time, but I just had to write it down.

Sick…

Yup, we’re sick again. We’ve been hit with colds for the last few days. R is already almost better, that girl has an amazing immune system. The rest of us are pretty congested. It was a pretty low key day as a result. J enjoyed watching R’s Tinkerbelle movie for a few minutes.

Braids

R really liked those braids she had in the Carribbean. She spent quite a lot of time braiding Alison’s hair (her doll). She did a pretty good job!

Bye Bye

We had company today, and J said “Bye Bye” for the first time, while the guests could still hear it! Usually he says it once the door is already closed. Today he managed to say it while the guests could still hear! Ok, it was more like “ba ba”. Still, how cute!

The inevitable

What goes up must also come down. We’ve had some great times over the last few days, but at bedtime today, the kids both melted. I’ll try to get some other pictures up soon. Just so you know, this is a picture from just a minute or two earlier.

Christmas Banquet

Grandma and grandpa’s church had a Christmas Banquet, and we were invited. We had a nice time. R went up to sing with the other kids during the program. She’s a brave soul! Grandpa was in charge of the raffle table, and R was thrilled to help him out be selecting the numbers and reading them out. Here are the pictures.

R’s school concert

We went to our first “Holiday Concert” for R’s school. It was just delightful. They sang a variety of songs, this one just made me smile. The rest were wonderful as well.
